AWARDS COMMITTEE

2025-26 Chair: Connor Choate, Marietta Monitor
Oversees and makes recommendations for changes to all contests, awards and recognition activities administered by the association. Coordinates and plans Better Newspaper Contest awards ceremony at the Annual Convention and monitors current awards as well as considering potential new awards.
 

EDUCATION COMMITTEE

2025-26 Chair: Ed Choate, Muskogee Phoenix
Plans the major conventions and events of the association. Works with the Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation to plan educational activities and learning tools the membership can utilize at newspapers. 
 

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS COMMITTEE

2025-26 Chair: Brett Wesner, Wesner Publications
2025-26 Vice Chair: Shaun Witt, Oklahoma Watch
Reviews all legislative activities of the association, works to carry out the legislative agenda set by the board.
 

LEGAL SERVICES PLAN COMMITTEE

2025-26 Chair: Katherine Miller, The Norman Transcript
Reviews and improves the legal services provided to member newspapers of the Legal Services Plan. Only staff from LSP-member newspapers may serve on this committee.

REVENUE AND PROMOTION COMMITTEE

2025-26 Chair: Jason Collington, Tulsa World
Identifies and helps to develop all forms of revenue streams, including business models, and ideas for members of all sizes; discovers, shares and distributes promotional ideas to members for their use locally.
