Services set for Yvonne Evans

Yvonne Marie (Lacy) Evans, who once worked at newspapers in Seiling, Barnsdall, Inola and Perkins with her husband Bob Evans, died Oct. 22, 2020 in Guthrie. She was 81.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 30, at the Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater, Okla., with burial at the Perkins, Okla., cemetery.
Yvonne was born Dec. 2, 1938. After graduating from Perkins High School in 1956, she attended Oklahoma State University for one year while working at the Perkins Journal as society editor where her future husband, Robert L. Evans, was owner and publisher. They were married on June 6, 1957.
Bob and Yvonne owned and worked side by side at several weekly newspapers during their more than 50 years of marriage. They also owned and operated Evans Publications, a book publishing business.
The Evans were inducted into the Oklahoma Press Association’s Half Century Club in 2004.
She is survived by her children, Joel Robert of Tulsa; Lacy Patrick and husband James “Wimp” of Perkins; Lloyd William and wife Kenna of Stillwater; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter; and three sisters.
