John Gilbert Lord, publisher of The Chelsea Reporter, died March 13, 2023. He was 77. Lord’s family will be greeting friends at the Chelsea Funeral Home, 601 Vine St., on Saturday, March 25, from 10 a.m. until noon. Lord was born August 16, 1945, in Nowata. After graduating from high school, he took post graduate classes at the Alluwe Trade School to complete his drafting studies. He was drafted into the US Army and served in the 8th Infantry Division during the Vietnam era. He married his high school sweetheart Linda Sue Pruett in 1967. Lord worked at JFJ Industries in Claremore as an aircraft rubber moulding technician. After 30 years of employment there, he became publisher of The Chelsea Reporter with his wife. Survivors include his wife, Linda Lord, of the home; son Justin Lord of Tulsa; and one grandson.
