Thursday, October 26, 2023   (0 Comments)

Cookson Hills Publishers recently purchased the Atoka County Times and Stigler News-Sentinel newspapers.

Jeff and Jack Mayo, brothers and third generation owners of Cookson Hills Publishers, Inc., also own the Sequoyah County Times, Vian Tenkiller News, The Eufaula Indian Journal, McIntosh County Democrat, Okmulgee Times, Henryetta Free-Lance and Eastern Times-Register in Roland.

"The Stigler News-Sentinel is in good hands," said former Stigler publisher Linus Williams, Jr. "Our families have a history of working together that dates back to the 1950s."

Louise Cain retired from the newspaper industry after publishing the Atoka County Times for more than 50 years.
